Officers were called to the 900 block of Barron Avenue in Essex at around 10 a.m. on Thursday to investigate a barricade situation, though few details have been released.

"As members of the Baltimore County Police Department work to resolve this incident peacefully we ask that residents avoid the area," the agency posted on social media.

The nature of the standoff has not been released by the police.
